BB, it was only a matter of time before they tracked me down. In retrospect, I do see where I tripped up:

1. I used my real name. I realize now that even though there are numerous "Jeffrey Mitchell"s in the US, it's still not a good idea to use your real name if you want to scam someone.

2. I used my real hometown. Again, even though there are 50,000 people in Westport, CT, there is only one Jeffrey Mitchell here. A serious oversight on my part. Darn.

3. I'm listed in the phone book. And, guess what? There are actually web sites where you can access all the stuff in all the phone books-- in seconds. This internet thing sure is bigger than I thought.

Please-- this information is for educational purposes only. It is not a "how-to" guide for would-be scammers.

BB, let's just hope this information doesn't fall into the wrong hands.
