DATA DIMENSIONS SIGNS LONG-TERM CONTRACT WITH MERCKÿ&ÿCO. TO PROVIDE YEARÿ2000 CONSULTING SERVICES

Bellevue, WA, January 23, 1998 - Data Dimensions Inc. (NASDAQ: DDIM), said today it signed a long-term contract with Merck & Co. (NYSE: MRK) to perform millennium consulting services for the international pharmaceutical company. The $5 million contract, which extends through mid-2000, includes provisions for increasing services beyond the initial commitment level.

As part of Merck's approach to addressing the Year 2000 challenge, Data Dimensions has been providing consulting and remediation services to Merck since 1996. Working together, Merck and Data Dimensions have already completed assessments of Merck's mainframe applications and client/server applications for the domestic marketing and research divisions. Some applications have already been remediated and/or undergone testing.

Under the contract, Data Dimensions will provide a full range of millennium consulting services to Merck's Year 2000 program.

As part of the services, Data Dimensions will utilize its Ardes 2k CD-ROM and Internet product. Through its off-shore facilities in Galway, Ireland, Data Dimensions will provide code-remediation services for Merck's U.S.-based information technology systems.

Data Dimensions to Host 4th Executive Roundtable On Year 2000 On Target: 2000' to Address Major Issues Facing Companies

BELLEVUE, Wash., June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Data Dimensions Inc. (Nasdaq: DDIM), a leading consulting and software company, will host its 4th Executive Roundtable to bring together industry experts working on the millennium problem. The Roundtable, titled "On Target: 2000," will focus on current best efforts to solve the Year 2000 computer problem using real world experiences and case studies.

A featured speaker at the conference, which will be held in San Antonio, Texas, on June 10 and 11, is Capers Jones, Chairman of Software Productivity Research, Inc., and an international expert on the Year 2000 problem.
