Well, as far as IVIP is concerned, you may be correct that they will be able to run it up. The floorless convertible is not fully discounted until January, but the holders are able to short whenever they like. I didn't find the news impressive. Neither did the market, evidently. As far as why competent people would join up with an outfit like IVIP, how many folks find out about a company's financials before accepting a job? It seems nowadays like most folks don't bother to check out the filings before buying the stock. I guess IVIP could be the first company that is getting out of a failed business (enables the longs to call them a start up), going into a totally new business, financed with a floorless convertible scheme, that loses me money. But I've only got a few shares right now to hold my interest, and I'm definitely getting the sense that the lure of the 'net isn't quite so strong. Failure is more likely to begat failure, IMO.

And look at EGGS now will you? I let the 'net mystique scare me out of that one. If I had stuck to my knitting and added to it when it was in the 11s and 12s, or at least re-entered, I'd be sitting on a nice gain instead of my worst YTD loss. I think I'm not going to repeat that mistake with IVIP.
