Like any corporation, it is in the benefit of the TSE for those who use it to have only a "rosy picture" of what is going on there. The truth and a behind the scenes look, is indeed not in their interest. They feel threatened that the picture people have in their mind may change, but I feel it already has changed. This threat to Porter appears to be the "icing on the cake" for me.

It's actually not a bad exchange, it just isn't led well at the moment, imho.
I have the majority of my stocks and the great majority of PF value on the TSE, having had the brilliant idea a year ago to bring all assets home because I thought the loonie was on a roll -g- (it rolled over and went into a coma instead)

If they could get an information flow going like the VSE has, and fix their technical problems, and get some respectable leadership, they could easily compete with the NYSE, imho. They once did, and still do in some stocks, due largely to quality people at sub-management levels. For instance, CCO always has a narrower spread and trades more on the TSE quote.yahoo.com than it does on New York quote.yahoo.com (where it is CCJ) even though the majority of stock, I've heard, is held by US investors.
