Mark,

I still think that most people are trading Amzn with their short positions as leverage. I will not buy a single share of Amzn at this price level without put/short protections.

"Think economies-of-scale my friend. More books they sell bigger volume discounts, giving Amzn more leverage to monopolies on their weaker competitors thus pushing them out of their markets, etc. You know this is a war." You mean they will push Barnes & Borders out of business. Think about the sources, the producers may want to enter the etailing market if it is too good. AMZN has no way out.
Mark you only look at the bright side, in this case the cost saving. The cost saving would not offset their additional expenses. Do you know there is a discount limit the publishers can take and already publishers show concern that their margin is too slim and they may have to increase their margin or else, they will sell books directly through the net.? I can probably find that article in case you have not read it. Definitely the cost savings is not 15% like they pay to the Associates. Can you think of how many million books they have to order to take advantage of volume discount to give up 15% to the associates? I hope most AMZN customers order through the associates so they will loose more money. If this deal is successful, then it will attract publishers to get into book etailing business and will offer the web associates even higher commission.

Mark, today's is an up day for AMZN and you have made so much money; you should take the money and run and put your money into something else which has much more upside potential.
