Ancor potentially not winning a [significant] contract from IBM is tantamount to predicting your kid won't amount to much because he didn't make Ivy League. Nothing is further from the truth. We learned recently [from Ancor] the SUN wasn't shining on them, now we [investors] are pondering whether or not there remains a Big Blue sky which as time passes appears to be developing clouds. Not winning IBM's seal of approval will undoubtedly have a material impact at least initially on Ancor's future. IBM's Global Systems Group if I'm correct endorses Ancor products. The issue now seems to be whether or not Ancor will play a role in Enterprise-wide solutions. Should IBM select another vendor, this is by no means a death knell for Ancor as the potential worldwide Fibre Channel Adapter market is huge! As a public company Ancor is constrained from bragging about their stellar technology and instead must release to the public only material facts. Brocade and McData as private companies are not bound by such restrictions and may release whatever they wish at any frequency to the media. I am hopefully optimistic Ancor will contine to "bumble and fuddle" along until they too score [big] wins. I'm glad to see you're still on the bus!<g>

Christine,

After 2 years I am no longer discouraged. I am numb! Send me your e-mail address sometime. Yours has obviously changed.
