Santiago, the only thing you have used from Associated Press is a quotation. Most of your material is from extremist Zionist publications. First of all, I did not say that there were absolutely no atrocities by the PLO. I said that violence makes me uncomfortable, but that if you come into a country which is inhabited and remove people from their homes and orchards and massacre some of their villages and put the rest of them in refugee camps, you will definitely set into motion a terrorist reaction to these injustices.

I think the Jews were treated very badly during World War II. That is no justification for them turning around and doing exactly the same thing to another group of people.

If you think that Hal Lindsey represents any part of the mainstream, you are sadly misinformed, incidentally. I do understand that you are motivated to make his prophesies logical, and thus you become a Zionist in order to do that. But please don't pretend you are attempting to understand the conflict in the Middle East in any kind of objective or accurate way, because you are not.

All your figures are grossly exaggerated. We could trade atrocity stories until the end of time and I don't think we would be further ahead, and certainly atrocities were committed against the Jews in Europe. I deliberately did not include any of the ones I considered slanted towards the PLO. Here is a more balanced essay on what happened in Lebanon, by noted philosopher Noam Chomsky:

If you are going to talk about Lebanon, I assume you would also like to deal with each massacre of Palestinians by the Israelis one by one, and address the issue of torture of Palestinian prisoners right now, this year? I frankly think all that is pointless, and very destructive. I objected to your post because I do not believe Arafat tortures his own people, and you have not proven your point.

Santiago:

All hogwash. Who cares?

What I WOULD like to see is all christians, muslims and those of the jewish faith destroy each other. Then the men and women of rationality can rebuild the earth without the scrabbling, drooling mystics getting in the way.
