Sony will lift its monthly output of the set-top boxes from 20,000 to 40,000, increasing the number of integrated assembly teams from two to three. It will also accelerate production of its two lines in Aichi Prefecture that produce the core control panels. Sony started marketing a 57,000-yen, set-top box for SkyPerfecTV in April, but demand has thus far outstripped production.
