American Resources and Development Co. Announces Opening of Three
New Franchise Stores

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 1998--American Resources and Development Co. (OTC BB:ADCO -
news; ''the company'') Wednesday announced the opening of three new Fan-A-Mania stores by its Salt Lake City-based
subsidiary, Fan-Tastic Inc.

The new Fan-A-Mania stores are located at Eastridge Mall in Casper, Wyo., at Fairground Square Mall in Reading, Pa., and in
Gifu City, Japan.

The new store openings bring Fan-A-Mania to a total of 16 stores as of May 31, 1998. The stores are located in Oregon,
Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah and Wyoming, as well as international locations in Barbados, Canada and Japan.

Fan-A-Mania stores feature a wide variety of products from the worlds of Warner Brothers, Disney, Sesame Street, Marvel
Comics, and all the major sports leagues such as the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL. Fan-Tastic expects to have over 30 stores
open by the end of 1998.

Relative to the growth, Barry Papenfuss, president of Fan-Tastic stated, ''We've been very pleased with the market's response
to our new prototype Fan-A-Mania store at these latest openings and look forward to additional store openings in the next two
months in Arkansas, Texas, Pennsylvania, New York, Montana, Virginia and Japan.
