Re:"The fact that an Intel fab here or there makes other products besides CPU's is irrelevant since it is only 25% of Intel's business. If you want to count all product lines, Intel must have at least 14 fabs.

LEIXLIP, Ireland, May 11, 1998 -- Intel Corporation officially opened the first 0.25 micron microprocessor production factory within

John, isn't AMD's newest fab called Fab28?

Petz - Re: " If I am wrong, prove it by listing all of
the Intel fabs and what they make."

Intel has about 13 fabs. Fabs 1, 1A ,2, 3 and 4 have been decommissioned - these were very old.

Current fabs are 5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,14,15,17 D1B, D2

Fabs 10,11,12,14 15, 17, D1B and D2 make logic products and some SRAM products.

(Note - 17 = DEC's Fab - Alpha and STrong Arm and peripheral Chips)

Note - Fab 14 is new and in start up mode)

D2 also makes Flash products/development

Fabs 5 and 6 and 8 make older logic products.

Fabs 7 and 9 make Flash products.
