I cannot help but wonder what reporter thought it necessary to ask Mahatir whether the economy would be discussed. What else is there? And does the party need his permission? Never mind. Don't answer that. By stark comparison, in an article directly above this one, Anwar is quoted as saying "If the country doesn't accept that domestic weaknesses also need to be corrected we will invite an even bigger catastrophe".
