Another question: If DirectX 6.0 works so well on this "benchmark" using the V2's, will Glide 3.0 turn in higher numbers? Another press release maybe? Joe C. P.S. Chip, I know your superstitious but there comes a point when you just have to change those fruit of the looms!

Two possibilities Joe.

1.) They mean that it talks directly to the hardware rather than "converting" DirectX calls into Glide calls.

2.) They mean that it is a new driver that was written from scratch with the DirectX 6.0 architecture in mind rather than just patching the previous DirectX drivers (which were themselves just patches).

I'm unfamiliar with the technical history of these drivers - so the above is total speculation, but either way this will probably make D3D performance very comparable to Glide performance. In the long run, (unlike many) I believe this is _great_ news for TDFX.
