Al,

Well I'm sure there will be take-over speculation on NOVL from time to time, but I'm almost certain that Schmidt won't entertain any deals (if any) until at least into early 1999. Otherwise, the speculation will be more that NOVL is cheap at the moment relative to what BAY and ASND are getting in terms of their valuations.

I also agree that there is more to this buying than the buy back announcement. NOVL will be presenting at the NYC PC Expos next week (Schmidt and Pfeiffer will be making presentations, Schmidt on Tues. 6/16 in the morning). I also remember an analyst conference too going on this week or next. So its possible that Schmidt is finally getting through to the fund managers....;)

So, time will tell, as always.
