ahhaha, It's interesting to read the acerbic responses to your post, by which your point is well made. I think that many people object to the idea that the value of their skills should be set essentially by auctioning their labor in a free market. They believe that they should be paid according to what they "deserve", rather than by the value of their skills, so "someone" must necessarily be compelled to pay whatever price they demand. Never in any society in history has such an endless array of opportunity been available to so many. Never have so many had such access to education, to such an unlimited number of paths by which a person might improve their lot in life. Never in any society have so many arrived on her shores with literally nothing, not a dollar, not even a grasp of the language, and gone on to earn such un-imagined prosperity. Never mind all of that, there are still those who will hold that a man is the helpless victim of circumstances and forces beyond his control, manipulated, enslaved and abused by immoral, greedy men with black hearts full of evil intent. They believe that "someone" has an obligation to provide everyone else with a pleasant standard of living, so it stands to reason that if all are not prosperous, it must be because "someone", in their "greed", is withholding that prosperity. Somehow, it never occurs to them to set about the difficult task themselves of providing someone with a nice job, and paying them an outstanding wage. But after all, it's much easier to point the finger at someone else, rather than go to all the trouble of providing the job yourself. Still, if only they themselves were in charge, there would be an unlimited number of great jobs for everyone, no matter how humble, and all persons would enjoy equal prosperity.
