Hey wait a minute... 8MB!?!?!?!?

Jerome, what does this tell you?

Doesn't it seem that Moore's law is no longer applying to processors but is seemingly applying to FlashCards? Didn't Kodak just double its flash requirements like the old days of the æP in PCs? ... and more flash memory is needed.

Today nobody wants more processing power, but everyone would love to have 2x the flash memory for the same price. Intel is losing pricing power on the high end which will be the ultimate breaking of Moore's law because there won't be enough money to keep it legal (at least for the next 3 years or so while we wait for internet bandwidth to catch up). SanDisk should be able to keep ASPs, in general, flat by increasing technology... Intel's addition of more density doesn't seem to get as big a payback anymore.

Hmmm....

Call it Rex's corollary to Moore's law (good for the next 3 years):
"Digital Cameras, Voice recorders, and other portable devices will encourage the doubling of density for flash memory every 18 months while maintaining ASPs, but not for microprocessors."

The 8MB card is VERY good news...
Am I seeing this correctly?

Now let's get some profits shall we Eli??

Good luck all,
Rex
