Yes, close to a market (not a common occurrence in the wilds of the gold fields Australia) the gravel and sand are worth more than the gold. The 0.4 grams per cubic metre I referred to is the recovered grade. In some places the tailings go 0.3 g/m3 because this gold is too fine to recover economically, or because of clay carry-over etc.
