joe

why does buying txn's dram business signal a turnaround for mu?

may not be a turnaround but good for a short term pop giving mu time to plan for longer term. here's how

1. buy for stock only
2. TXN PAYS MU to buy. it happens all the time. cos. pay ot get rid of losing businesses. its cheaper than closing it down
3. MU gets an appraisal on the acquisition at a higher value.
4. Balance sheet of MU improves
5. Losses are called 1-time writeoffs due to acquisition.
6. stock price goes up
7. hope, pray, work to improve co.
8. if it improvesd you are home free
9. if not, try the same process before next quarters earnings

and so on, and so forth

EDIT - DONT FORGET THE 88+ mil shares held by the big boys. They are not going to roll over and play dead. They know more tricks to keep Mu propped up than you ....(fill in a good comp.)
