If I undersatnd my history correctly, small-caps were very cheap relative to big-caps in 1973, but still got knocked down in the 1973-74 bear market. However, this was then the launching pad for a raging bull market in small-caps, perhaps the greatest of this century. For the next 8 years, they returned 35% annually while big-caps treaded water.
