NeoMagic Combines Graphics On Single Chip Monday June 8 2:34 PM EDT SANTA CLARA, Calif. (Reuters) - NeoMagic says it has begun initial deliveries of the first multimedia computer-accelerator that integrates high-speed graphics, audio, video, and digital video playback capabilities on a single chip. NeoMagic said its MagicMedia 256AV, a 256-bit chip with over 21 million transistors, is the first of a new family of chips that are specifically built to speed the graphics performance of the latest generation of multimedia notebook PCs. The chip provides the internal bandwidth to handle and convert data into high-performance audio and high-resolution video, giving notebook computer users many of the same powers found in high-performance desktop computers, the company said.

And here I thought I was the last cheerleader. Michael, MANY people are convinced that the Savage is great. Unfortunately, they're not buying/selling/holding/trading the stock. As I've said before, this stock moves down more often on good news than bad or none. The only way this stock is going to move (outside of S3 again being declared king of the jungle w/ 60+% of the market) is for the principals to start loading up like they unloaded 18 months ago. < Are you taking over for Leo who was the last S3 cheerleader. If the Savage does not get some market share back S3 will use up its cash and start to sell more of the fab .. > Greg, I'm on the sidelines like you. I like your "Leo" comment! I expect the current quarter may force S3 to perhaps sell a bit more of the fab investment. This quarter should be a bit bloodier than last. If the next CC can begin to focus on things turning around financially with Savage and some real design wins then I think it might be time to perhaps start buying. Dave
