Lockheed Martin Bid -2: Sees Reaching IRS Pact Later This Yr

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (Dow Jones)--Lockheed Martin Corp. (LMT) submitted its team's bid for the Internal Revenue Service's 15-year Prime tax system modernization.

In a press release Monday, Lockheed said the team, including principal partner Electronic Data Systems Corp. (EDS), submitted the proposal after the IRS's request, issued in March.

Other team members include Arthur Andersen, Chicago; Robbins-Gioia Inc., Alexandria, Va.; Intuit Inc. (INTU), Mountain View, Calif.; and Gallup Organization, Princeton, N.J.

Lockheed said the IRS is expected to sign a contract later this year.

Lockheed Martin is a defense and aerospace company.
