RE: The Truman Show - a few random thoughts The movie was good, not great. I recommend it. I thought that it was very clever but not the cinematic masterpiece that some people claim it to be. One thing that really irks me is how much I knew about the movie going into it. It would have been nice if the trailers and tv ads left the plot a mystery.(It'd also be nice if it rained money every day) I am now starting to believe that Jim Carrey can actually act and is not the buffoon that he plays in most movies. (although he is a great buffoon!) The movie ended kind of abruptly but in afterthought I'm not sure how else I would have ended it without doubling the running time.
