mph, Actually, the helium balloon method involves filling the balloons, then inhaling the helium and saying the names of your favorite drilling or service company. Suddenly, they seem "higher".:-)

mph,

<<For my part, I'm considering the use of dartboards.>>

I don't wish to burst anyone's helium filled balloons, but this dartboard strategy can also be tricky. I was complaining to a broker type one day, that in a market in which even the proverbial monkey throwing darts at a list of stocks could make money, my picks were all firmly in the crapper. The broker type responded, "well, you know what the problem with that is don't you?" No, I didn't. "You're not a monkey." (Needless to say, I was thunderstruck by the simplicity and accuracy of this observation.) So, if you're going to go the dartboard route (probably worth a shot), I strongly recommend that you use only genuine monkeys - accept no substitute. (I tried letting my cat pick the stocks for a while - no go, apparently you've got to use monkeys<vbg>.)
Best,
John
