Where's the guy with the 1/8 predictions now? I guess he 's too busy covering his short (or filling his shorts!) to chat to us!

Steve,

The configure to order deal is certainly a plus. I'm wondering how much of a plus. Looks similar to GTW's deal with the LS120 which is offered as an option on Gateway configure-to-order systems.

This is not a deal where CPQ necessarily commits to buy x amount of units a year but may only obligate it to purchase units matching retail orders. It may also reduce the number of units available through normal retail channels at better margins, as there are often stiff penalties imposed if a vendor is unable to meet OEM demand.

Not weeping at all! IOM is now STANDARD equipment in CPQs Pressario line. SYQT drives are optional on CPQs custom-order program...this in not the same as an upgrade.

I remember some time ago that Zip was an 'option'.
