David...

Agree this isn't the board to discuss individual stocks, and that wasn't my intent. I understand you're focused on taking a point or two in a quick trade. That isn't far from what I am doing. With the lower priced stocks I concentrate on ($10 -$25, give or take), using a percentage profit target is realistic.

I was more interested in your selection criteria, or methodology. I've recently been testing some thoughts with OmniTrader. OT scans my universe of stocks and presents me with candidates which I then look much closer at with more conventional TA and in a different charting program.

What do you use to narrow down your focus? Again, if you don't mind discussing this. I think that is more appropriate for the intent of this board, don't you?

Sounds like you're doing quite well and I say "Good for you!"

Ken

David,
Great posting on your part...very informative. I would agree that it would be very wise to trade for a year of two during off hours until one shows some consistency and the ability to keep losses at a minimum.

There is a lot to learn. Much of it is common sense,(see post #1 of this thread) yet it takes time. Swinging a tennis racket to hit the ball over the net seems simple enough, yet it takes time before your tennis balls stop going over the fence.

Reading is very helpful, and then making small trades to get practice. With trades only costing $9.95 at Datek, you can make little trades without spending a lot in commission.

Good Luck to all, RS
