Newbridge, 3Com Broaden Scope Of
Strategic Alliance

Dow Jones Newswires

ATLANTA -- 3Com Corp. (COMS) said it and Newbridge

strategic alliance, announced in January, to include
interoperable solutions for the asymmetrical digital

In a press release, the company said specific areas of
collaboration include joint contributions to key industry
venues, such as the ADSL Forum and the Universal ADSL
Working Group (UAWG). As well, it said the companies
have agreed to ensure product interoperability between their
respective xDSL solutions. It said other areas of
collaboration include network and service management,
which will provide integrated end-to-end management
from the DSL access through the ATM backbone portions
of the network.

The companies said this announcement is "a natural
extension of each company's commitment to deliver
comprehensive, advanced solutions to the marketplace."
