Reality is never apparent!

Your statement about "never" reaching the teens is
repeated often on many of the finest stocks, during periods
prior to reaching "teens" or equivalent. It can certainly
happen to Gateway although not in the next few months, nor
do I think that economically they deserve it but at some
point they may. I'm sure Sinclair was a fine investment,
and you would certainly have said something lauditory about the
shares of Commodore Computer. Remember Kaypro?

Gateway could melt away without the slightest murmur of the
rest of the market. Or not.
Greg

If GTW ever fell 35 points from here, I'd mortgage my house, sell my car, pawn my wife's wedding ring and buy as much as I could get my hands on.....

Hea and you would loose that as well. It's coming. If you mortgage your house and pawn you brides rings you would make more shorting GTW.

Just my 2 cents

Hum, Remember Control Data or DEC @ 200? Maybe such a comparison is unfair because those were really technology companies and GTW is more a final assembly and sales company. I'm sure we could come up with some closer screw up examples if you are really convinced it could never happen.

Dave, the reality of a slowdown in the rate of growth for PCs and declining asps -crushing margins is the reality that will take GTW into the teens without a split. In addition, we have yet to feel the impact of the recession/depression in SEA and Japan. to add to the boxmakers troubles we have a fairly saturated US mkt and record levels of consumer debt. you will see GTW in the teens after New Years if not sooner. There is a little dose of reality in a world of fantasy. Mike
