I don't have much time today, but I'll add my two cents on the McData FC switch. It sure looks like a SilkWorm, which is a surprise to me. (I was expecting something totally McData, without Brocade's input.) The only possibility that I can think of is that McData and Brocade cooperated in the design. That could mean that McData hit some snags with their own internal switch development, or it could just mean that this was the way they wanted to do it from the start.

I haven't had a chance to do much browsing lately, but I took some time today and went through Brocade's web site. There are pictures and specs on the SilkWorm Express, and their management software. (Very nicely done.) It kind of gives you a feel for how these things operate. There is even a demo of some sort, although it wouldn't run under Navigator. (I'll try Internet Explorer when I get a chance.)

Sorry to have been absent so much, but my work has kept me away from the office most days.

I just checked out the Brocade Web Tools demo with IE4, and it works fine. A pretty impressive demo, in my opinion. KJ, you should probably take a look at this:
