The conversation concerning oil prices is entirely appropriate when considering the near term viability of GRNO.

What do the economics of a plant look like now based on current spot prices for diesel? Can GRNO hold on long enough to get through a recurring cycle of low oil prices? What if oil prices continue to slide? What is the 5-year pay out on a unit based on $10.00 oil?

I have been lurking this thread for quite some time and took the ride from $1 to $9 along with several of the regular posters on this thread. I have also recently resigned from the Kaufman County Waste Management Board of Directors located just east of Dallas, Texas.

This cooperative is funded by a two year $200,000 grant from the state of Texas in hopes of creating an entity that can better manage the solid waste (to include sludge and oil) problems of the county as a whole. Long term this cooperative needs to provide a product or service that will result in net income that can support the overhead of the cooperative and any surplus retained or spent as determined by the cooperative members. Some non-income generating services such as education and training programs could be subsidized by revenue generating services such as tipping fees in a coop owned land fill. A GRNO recycling system would fit right into the need for an income generating service assuming the economics are there.

If GRNO is truly considering moving to Texas, they should consider Kaufman County. Several incentives including the availability of low cost land, low labor costs and the possibility of securing state and other local funds is a real possibility. Perhaps BC already has things all taken care of in Houston but I haven't read anything firm in this regard. Perhaps an LP with the CO-OP or the sale of a unit to the CO-OP at cost in return for assistance in relocating to Texas, or maybe CO-OP manages working demo unit owned by third party. Key is to get Local and State entities working with the business instead of against it. Why wouldn't the County want to have GRNO relocate here? Why wouldn't the City provide low cost property to stimulate economic growth? Why wouldn't the State provide funding for job creation? These things happen all the time and I have been personally involved in several recently. Funds are available; all it takes is a good proposal. This proposal would revolve around the economic viability of GRNO and more specifically the economic viability of the machine - evaluated prudently under a worst case scenario. What are the economics now? Is there really an emission concern or is the DHEC really as incompetent as they seem. Do I really want one of these things in my back yard?

I have been involved with waste management in the County for the past three years and resigned from the CO-OP Board due to lack of time. I have however committed to the CO-OP manager that I would follow up on the GRNO lead and am meeting with the Long Tern Planning Committee on Friday to discuss this specific issue. Ron, Charles others - if I am wasting my time, say so. If the economics are not there, GRNO should go into hibernation and wake up when oil is $20 again - it will be $20 again.

If Bill wants to relocate to an oil friendly state - let's get rolling before cash is depleted. I will be more than happy to act as the point man on this end should there be interest on the part of GRNO management. I am confident that we can make something happen and encourage all of you to post your thoughts concerning this matter.

Thanks

Jack Wurster

Hey GRNO'ers..

Remember ECGOF, American Eco Corporation?

Check this out:

biz.yahoo.com

News came out after the bell with the stock trading at a P/E of 8 and a $7 1/2 stock price. This deal equals the entire amount of revenues they did last year, if my recollection is correct.

Regards,

Ron
