I have heard the exact same thing. At least 3 of EP's reports are being replaced by DEC people, maybe more. I had said before that the cuts would not all come from DEC, there are a lot of good people there and CPQ is going to pick the best person for each slot regardless of past history. EP is pretty hard nosed, not a 'warm and fuzzy' sort of CEO, and he wants to get the best talent at the end of the day.

You speculated on a $1 billion inventory write down in a posting some weeks ago. Now Bloomberg reports that Compaq's going to announce that exact number in their post-acquisition press conference. Anyone else heard that?
