Shalom Bombay. JPR: Thanks for posting the info on Jews of Cochin. Actually I was there in 94. As a matter of fact Koder & Co was one of the biggest business houses in Kerala in the 60s. Mr.Koder was a very prominent citizen in the city of Cochin and Kerala and he headed many business and social organizations. I heard that now the company is sold, perhaps the younger Koders might have emigrated to Israel. I particularly liked Mrs.Koder's statement below. 'We often request some non-Jew males in the locality to help conduct the prayers. It is only during the tourist season that we can muster enough strength for the prayers.
