Im doing some research on technology in India and was wondering if anyone might have any answers to these questions:

1) is there a "silicon valley" of programming in India and what cities is it located?

2) What kind of programming happens there?

3) is it for domestic use or export?

I know these are broad questions but Im kind of looking for broad answers at this point. Pardon my ignorance on the subject. Thanx in advance for any responses.

Basically, regarding your idea of the "... Effects of British rule in India..? How Indian trade was clinically decimated..." one didn't want to live in India "under" the British, the Afghans, the Moguls or even the local Indian Rajas. No civil rights. Tax farming. Lots of injustice. We are living in a better, just more complicated world. Do you have a cell phone?
