ELWOOD --- Really nice introduction of CPQ consumer PC's by CNBC this afternoon at 3:45 . Best that I have seen in four months . New PC"s have four new buttons to tie you into the internet . One button ties you into ALTA VISTA for your search engine direct . CPQ receives all the money for these hit's . One button goes direct to YAHOO -they split the revenues from the hits .
Also they now have 100 stores now tied into the BTO system at BEST BUY AND CIRCUIT CITY .

BEST WISHES
BILL

Compaq markets Presario as PC for the Net

Compaq Computer Corp. (CPQ) Tuesday showed a new line of
Internet-ready computers featuring a keyboard pre-set to launch
e-mail, Web searches and other features. The new Presario line
comes with an America Online (AOL) icon on the desktop, as well as
a $100 rebate for customers who sign up for a free trial of
Compaq's own new Internet access service.

Compaq is hoping to make $1 billion a year in fees from Internet
service providers and online services. The company announced a
multi-year agreement with AOL, under which it will receive fees
based on how much Presario owners use the service, The Wall Street
Journal reported. "We've focused on placing connectivity front and
center," Compaq consumer division chief Rod Schrock said. "That's
going to drive sales now."

Junglee offers comparison shopping site

Junglee Corp., developer of agent software which supports
comparison shopping across sites on the Web, Tuesday announced its
own branded service. Launched in conjunction with Compaq
Computer's new product launch Tuesday, Junglee Shopping Guide
(compaq.junglee.com/compaq/ top.shtml) has nine categories of
goods for shoppers to review. "Junglee is committed to making it
easier for people to locate, compare and transact products from
across the Web," said Ram Shriram, president and COO of Junglee.

The $9.6 billion merger between the two computer companies, first announced in January, is all but finalized. A Digital shareholders meeting to vote on the deal is scheduled for June 11. As a consequence of the merger, a new top management team will be installed, according to sources. It will include Compaq's Eckhard Pfeiffer as chairman and CEO, along with Digital's Enrico Pesatori and Compaq's John Rose as upper-rung managers. Compaq's Earl Mason likely will remain as chief financial officer of the combined company.
Compaq said its new management structure will be officially announced Friday..."
