Hello! Jack,

Sometimes when I'm not having my best day I try to ask myself the question what can I do for myself that would really make me happy or feel good! The strange thing is that some of the time the situation that takes place that brings a brighter side around for me is seeing other people enjoying themselves or being happy!

An Example! I'll see my two daughters being silly, giggling, laughing and just carrying on! Then I'll say why are you behaving like that? They'll say, " Just having fun!"

Jack , I think sometimes the responsibility of being a loved one, a parent, etc, carries with it a great presence of feeling protective of those around you! As the day to day pressures of life build, every
once in a while we can get overwhelmed by the level of overprotection we exert in the love of those near and dear to our hearts!

From time to time I try to remind myself that no matter how much I care for those around me--I am not able to live someone else's life for them!--So! I think it's a good idea to remind ourselves of that point once in awhile!

It's one of those scenario's that's easy to talk about but more difficult to do! ( At least in my situation!).....

I don't know if it's as much the money driving everything, or everyone trying to drive the money?

Jack! I think you have a lot to offer on the NYRR Thread--I agree with Dexx that we should keep the discussions of this thread on it's original subject matter.

I'll be thinking good thoughts your way !

Take care!

Wayne J.

Hi, Jack!

Monday, June 8, I was 35 miles away attempting to "snag" a renter
by sprucing up the front yard. One came along and I negotiated
myself into oblivion after days and days of extended projects.

There was just enough time left before dark to give an 80 year old
neighbor across the street (Mr. Edmonds) a hand. So instead we sat
on his front deck chatting. He said "Oh oh. Somebody's looking
for a quarter. ...I try to avoid this." (It's a rough time
neighborhood.)

A little boy popped up, soon followed by his "puppy dog". We made
quite a fuss enjoying the dog. He was feeling very proud of that,
and was a surprisingly mature little character! So, somehow 2 other
boys surfaced as if the coast was clear. Eventually the three
were all over the place (wanting to help us) and we had to escape!

I cut the backyard until dark & we leaned on the fence talking:

(Mr. Edmonds)
"When I was 5, I began accompanying Expediter Kenny in a horse
drawn buggy. I don't ever think my parents knew. Of course he
was the one who delivered the packages."

...I haven't remembered that far back in years."
So, I asked if he thought it was the little
boy? ".....Perhaps."

"you know, in the real scheme of things, human's are nothing.."

Then we talked about what's beyond us, stars we could see that
aren't really shining still, how the movements of a sleeping
person played back at high speed look like those of a microscopic
organism with only 4 days to live; and how a motor cyclist who
created sparks on the road by dragging the heal of his boot
might be creating something much like the Milky Way,
and he laughed about "How people would think we we're nuts for
talking this way", and "Einstein constantly left home forgetting
to ware his pants."

You said:
$$$..What a shame..
....I don't know what has happened in the last 25 years...Its
like people think a lot and have good ideas but for what ever
reason elect not to say what they feel... Take care my JG

What ever our individual entries turn out to be here on SI, I like
to think there are little filtering mechanisms we somehow add
because we are all different.
They help us discover something special. "Who on SI
we can have extra faith in because they show the
ability/understanding, or motivation to step through our
custom made "style" as they read our words and show appreciation
for the actual person who did the typing.

I for one, have enjoyed your posts that talk of wild excursions.
...And anyone who has to run from his dog...

(my brothers dog Fang contributed heavily to the "Oh! zone" too!
..He used to call it ..."a Fang Bang") -g-

Well, anyone who has to escape that crisis, it's only because
this dog must care for you very much and desires to be close.
So, you must be quite a guy! IYDO (your dog's opinion!) Which
is more than good enough for me! A finer character reference
may never be found.

My brother loved his dog much. I'm sure in this way, you and
he are drastically the same. Lots of other ways too.

Oh well, off once more to my little rentals. I am going to
make them as pretty as cockoo clocks, ...and then pray!
Famous last words! hehe? ...but you are among friends who
notice and enjoy you, be that nothing in the scheme of things,
...or everything right now. And I think U is a "Good Guy." -g-
