Scumbria, Cyrix had already resolved the driver issues by the time Creative filed suit. They removed all "Soundblaster Compatible" references from their web site the next day. Creative's lawsuit was the biggest non-event in Cyrix history, serving only to disuade others from attempting similar copyright infringement.

You really can't blame Creative for trying to keep "Soundblaster" from going the was of "Ping-Pong", "Garbage Disposal" and other trademarks that lost their protected status due to neglect.
