Jim and all Sprint PCS Forms Pacts With Wireless Providers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Reuters) - Sprint PCS said today it formed affiliations with five wireless service providers to bring
digital mobile phone service to cities in Georgia, Missouri, Louisiana, Ohio, South Dakota, Texas and West Virginia.

Sprint PCS is a partnership of Sprint Corp., Tele- Communications, Cox Communications and Comcast.

The companies include Louisiana Unwired LLC and Meretel Communications, in Lake Charles, La., Roberts Wireless
Communications in St. Louis, Mo., Horizon Personal Communications in Chillicothe, Ohio, Georgia PCS Management in
Macon, Ga., and Brookings Municipal Utilities, in Brookings, S. D.

"We already offer Sprint PCS service in more than 4,000 U.S. cities including a majority of the nation's largest metropolitan
areas," said Sprint PCS Chief Executive Officer Andrew Sukawaty. "These agreements will expand our nationwide network
into a number of key markets not currently served by Sprint PCS," he said in a statement.

Sprint PCS said it continues to negotiate agreements for many other key cities across the country. The agreements call for each
company to build an all-digital, CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) wireless network, the majority of which will operate
on the Federal Communications Commission PCS licenses owned by Sprint PCS and Sprint Corp. Each company will operate
and market its network as Sprint PCS service, using the Sprint name and marketing programs of Sprint PCS.
