Go for the rocks, if you've a choice. They may be boring, but they're slow, so they're easy to lose on a bad date. I live in the gawdawfulmiddleofnowhere Alabama. Told myself many a time today, "Shore is purty here." A minor mental trick to convince myself that it's not that bad. But it truly is beautiful and the gardens look better than ever, yaddayadda. But one fine day, I'll be back in the bay area, and I'm going on a date. No rocks or snakes. The key to a good date is to go with someone that you want to go on a date with, but not go out with. That gets things all skewed. Little dinner, maybe some dancing or a small jazz club, a walk around the neighborhood, good conversation, and goodnight. Preferably with someone you know well enough to realize you might as well not try to impress them, cause they'd never fall for it, then you can relax and enjoy the evening. All the romance, with none of the hassle. ::grin::
