"...The ever-acquisitive Network Associates said Tuesday it will buy antivirus software maker Dr. Solomon for about $640 million. The acquisition of the British-based company is expected to be "modestly dilutive" to earnings in the third quarter, but will boost earnings after that, Network Associates (NETA) said. Network Associates, which was formed in a mega-merger last year between McAfee Associates and Network General, has made more than a dozen acquisitions over the past three years. Network Associates plans to include the antivirus toolkit from Dr. Solomon (SOLLY) in its package of software for businesses, as well as selling more Network Associates products to Dr. Solomon's customers, which are primarily in Europe..." source: &copy 1998
