To thread - FWIW On CNBC, Abbey Cohen (gotta love her bullishness) said (to our beloved Maria, no less) she felt that oil and the patch was reaching its lows and we should see turnaround in the next month or so. (Maybe she has more faith in OPEC than the market does).

HLX; ...move over FGII ? drsvelte; thanks for the link. I had forgotten the deepwater nature of these prior contract announcements - no wonder HLX outperformed FGII by over 25%+ in the last 6-8 weeks stockprice-wise (5% increase vs. 20% decrease) in the recent sell off. Not many more bullish statements by CEO's recently; ''The announcement was made by John Dane III, chairman, and CEO of Halter and Don Covington, president of TDI-Halter, who said, ''These are the first new semi-submersible rigs to be built in the United States in over 15 years. The fact that this experienced group of rig owners chose TDI-Halter to build these rigs demonstrates the confidence they have in our capabilities. With the signing of these contracts, TDI-Halter has nine new construction projects in its rig backlog; six drill barges, one jack-up rig, and two semi-submersible rigs.
