Wednesday's IBD reports VW after Renault now:

"VW Won't Stop With Rolls; Now It May Covet Renault

Date: 6/10/98

Stern magazine reports Volkswagen, Europe's No. 1 carmaker, wants
Renault mainly for its truck division. Renault is the world's No. 3 maker of commercial vehicles. VW Chairman Ferdinand Piech has often said he would like to add a truck division, possibly via acquisition. A VW spokesman called the Stern report ''pure speculation.''"

Ya know Tom, I KNEW that "tour" of Siemens was bad news. They emphasized Mercury Marine? I'm all for Mercury, but this tour was "about" 4-stroke. At least it was supposed to be. For the few that are "even", or have small positions, I can't argue with bailing. I still think there will be success, but I'm no longer comfortable recommending OE to others. Just make sure you buy something solid with the money, like GE, AHP, or LU.
