Altera off 2 this morning. I see this as a buying opportunity. ALTR and XLNX have for about 2 years now been killing LSCC in new technology and design wins - my guess is that is starting to hit LSCC (typical telecom design cycles are about 18 months long). COuple that with Asia, and it spells doom for LSCC. This should drag ALTR and XLNX down too. However, if I am right, ALTR and XLNX will not pre-announce and will hit analysts expectations which may allow a recovery of recent drops. XLNX more likely to surprise on the upside than ALTR - better position in new products cycle. Also, XLNX has less exposure to Asia than ALTR.
