RE: "Congratulatons, you are defending a chip that even Tony and Paul are ashamed of."

Show me where I defended it ? or are you wrong again ? Don't be upset that Celeron isn't that great, as a shareholder be glad that because it is Intel Inside it is being used in the low cost PC. If the 2nd rate chip makers rushed to market a low cost chip as such, no one would use it. Be glad you own some of the A team.

Jim, >>>"Where IS that Mendocino."

September 13th (or earlier, with the way Intel has been beating schedules lately). BTW, as pointed out yesterday, I think, all the important boxmakers have signed up to build around the 300 MHz Celeron. It should be about 20% faster than a PMMX-233. Nothing wrong with that for entry level today. And, I'm sure it will be available in the bazillions (excellent yields), which, of course translates into excellent reliability. Reports are that Fry's, etc. can't keep the AMD K6-2 whatever stocked. Good news and bad news. Good news that they can sell; bad news that AMD may not be able to make it in decent yields or they'd have more of them out there (remember the K6 yield ramp? {NOT}).
