Yet THQ was recommended in the May issue of Navellier's newsletter. I'll try to get a copy for full details. Hard to believe they would be dumping half while recommending the stock. Or is it?

Makes sense that Furman owns a ton of the stock. They really understand the company and why not pull a Buffet and buy as much of it as they can?

Aloha, the fund I think you want to be buying into THQ right now would be Jeff Vinik's hedge fund. That man is a master at squeezing shorts. He could get us up to thirty in no time. I'd like it, because I'd like the buying power to play with. Eidos looks good to me right now, for example.

Btw, an AOL post excerpted part of the Red Chip notes. It sounds like Red Chip is kind of amused at how well the company is doing and how poorly the stock is performing. Nonetheless, they give the different scenarios for THQ in terms of earnings and pe multiple and they all come out pretty decently.

My scenario is $3 in earnings, a stock-split, and an adjusted stock price of $50-60 in the Dec.-Feb. timeframe .

RR, Furman Selz now owns 12% of THQI. This is a more recent filing
that was not on my list from last week. I have the Bloomberg print-
out from eight days ago and Furman was not on it. Navellier is now
second. I have the fax if you want a copy of it but it's available
on any Bloomberg terminal. If you provide me with a fax number I'd
be more than happy to send you a copy. If you have access to a
Bloomie enter THQI [press on the equity key] and type hds then press
enter.

I would not be surprised if Furman continues to add. Joe, I feel very
comfortable buying here and I did add to my position today. I also
agree with Jeff and Sigmund that THQI neither needs to be pumped nor
does it need a quick fix. The stock's valuation will eventually
reflect the company's fundamentals. I think the forward discounting
has been much too severe, especially in light of the recent info.
we have on strong Quest shipments and good earnings mix in Q2.

That's going to surprise a lot of people, otherwise Furman would not
be buying so aggressively. Their purchases--possibly ongoing--is
probably strategic; remember they have a relationship with THQ and
they issued their first report almost 10 months ago. The buying tells
me that Furman is looking at THQ as both a short and long-term value
and growth investment. The short sellers will get this point very
soon, perhaps after earnings revisions are upgraded and before Q2
earnings are announced.
