Hi Phil, Yahoo hurt me bad last year and I was only short for one week. If I were still short I would be down about 80 points post-split. I will never touch Yahoo again.

I have now divided my short selling mindset into two halves:

1) Wildly overvalued hyped up stocks with viable business models and plenty of cash for growth, promotion, acquisitions, diversification, "time" to pull new rabbits out of the hat

2) Wildly overvalued hyped up stocks with little cash left, the need for diluted financings, no business to speak of, "in trouble" yet paradoxically with high valuations...no "time" left therefore the need to make obviously fraudulent claims

I only short AMZN, YHOO, etc. on paper.

I am more interested in shorting the companies with deteriorating financials or a weak business in real life. Shorting YHOO is an invitation for disaster. They have a very robust business and are no longer losing money.

Then again, in a market correction you'll make a bundle if you're short these momentum plays. Good luck.
