I agree, this stock is cheap and it's one of Tennessee Investors
(Heidtke & Co - 615 254 0992) top picks for 1998 and I'm watching it close...In his July '98 issue he writes "Evans reported February 4q earnings of 48 cents vs a loss of 38 cents on sales of 38.4 million. Full year earnings were reported at a loss of 17 cents vs a 96 cent loss. The company was in line to earn 1.00 a share in 4q through the first week in january. Then el nino raised its ugly head and sales went dead for the remainder of the quarter. With fur demand continuing to be strong, Evans should be a great speculative buy in December for a potential double or triple. Book value is around 3.00 a share. Evans is the country's largest retailer of women's furs"

Well this one is starting to look awfully good at the current price. I've got a call into Evan's IR guy to ask him a few pointed questions.
If this stock repeats it's cyclical past we could easily see a buck by February...just my opinion
