R1: I would like to share what little I know about the telco situation in Argentina and Brazil. Argentina: the private duopoly in charge of basic telephony is comming to an end in the 2nd 1/2 of 1999. The gov't will permit two additional competitors. Each has to rise from a combination of celular co's, local (small town) telco coops and others Brazil: The state monopoly, Telebras is being split apart. Telebras is really BIG. And Brazil has a massive upside In both countries there will be a lot of telco rock n' roll, and Jimmy knows.
