The news is that they will announce a 1 Billion dollar obsolete inventory write down this quarter
This statement is just an unsubstantiated rumor, much like the 'IBM steals Dell account at Boeing' rumor, and probably with about the same validity.

The chance of CPQ missing this quarter and next quarter and the quarter there after is high
What evidence do you have to support this? I have seen nothing to indicate that CPQ will have problems in second half, just the opposite.

IMHO you are in danger of losing credibility with this kind of unsubstantiated pronouncement. Presenting your opinions as fact and then using those opinions as the basis of other arguments is a basic fallacy of logic, known as 'begging the question'. You have done some good research in the past, why don't you stay with facts and give up the empty rumor-mongering?
