Yeah, I believe IBM did run into that sort of problem, too. Their mentality was, "Whatever the market will bear." They pissed off a lot of customers. I remember in 1986, IBM gave me prices on a 500MB HD and a 1GB HD (cabinet sized back then). One was $4,000; the other, $8,000. I started asking questions and found that it was the same HD. They only formatted half of the drive if you wouldn't pop for the extra $4,000.
