jessie mae, you said >For all of you who don't believe that the HiFD will be the A:\ drive for the next 10 yrs...<

This drive has hardly even been seen yet. It is
a little early to predict what will happen to
it in the next 10 years.

But, there is no arguing about beliefs.<g>

And Sony HiFi will be the first, and perhaps ONLY manufacturer-installed drive to REPLACE the floppy drive in desktop machines. Zip is an add-on. Nothing more. It is not a replacement for ANYTHING. Zip is a bell, a whistle. It is NOT NEEDED.

Sony HiFi will be NEEDED, because their will be no dedicated floppy drive. And right off the bat, ALL Sony computers can have 200MB HiFi drives installed WITHOUT the dedicated floppy drive.

So the floppy-replacement Standard will be set with HiFi. Zip is a popular OPTION. You can still de-select it off any computer you buy with Zip built-in.

Chris Smith of Sony (aka Cliff Clavin),

For all of you who don't believe that the Zip will be the A:\ drive for the next 10 yrs and are vehemently denying it, you sure are talking a lot about it. I wonder what's up with that?
