Chris,

You seem to miss the point. The HiFD (like the LS120) is R/W compatible with 1.44 MB floppies - now need to supply current 3.5's anymore.

As for the business model on how SONY is going to make money on HiFD, there will be profit margin on the drives (unlike the current 3.5") and the media - duhhh. We will KICK ASS with HiFD.
