g'day all - Mike & Michael, while Cramer may be a trader extraordinaire, I've never gotten much from his vision-thing <g>. Anyway, back to the AFC and DRAM [or to a greater extent, hi tech in general,] IMHO, there are 2 views. From the short term perspective, sure, overcapacity is killing those markets [and MU!] However, I doubt they will abandon the initiative so quickly. From a longer term perspective, the hi tech buildups in these countries have significant political implications. For example, the taiwanese may very well use this asset as one of the bargaining chip [what a double take <g>] in negotiating unitification with PRC. Considering the somewhat deep seeded relationship between Korea and Japan, it is a matter of national pride [ok, I am going out on a limb on this one <g>.] In that sense, it is true that a lot of american cos can be in a better position to be one-dimensional while the SE Asian economies remain a pretty scrambled jazsaw puzzle.

Best, Bosco
